THE STORY
Asterix Health was building something that didn’t exist yet: software that lives at the intersection of AI engineering and clinical practice. Which meant that their founding team had to live there too.
The problem was that this intersection is rare. AI engineers who understand clinical workflows are hard to find. So are clinicians who can evaluate AI systems. Building a team with both is such a challenge that most recruiters turn it down.
Asterix weren't prepared to compromise. They needed a founding team that could speak both languages from day one, and they weren't willing to hire for one and hope the other followed.
WHAT WE BUILT
We placed 6 founding-level hires in 5 months: Founding Lead AI Engineer, Founding Product Engineer, Founders Associate, GP Lead, Clinical Training Manager and Pharm Tech.
Every one of them brought the dual fluency Asterix needed from day one, so the team could start building straight away.
THE result
Asterix now has a founding team that can evaluate technical decisions through a clinical lens and clinical strategy through a technical lens. A founding team that understands the product can keep building it. One that doesn't, ends up being rebuilt. Rare talent exists. You just have to know where it lives.
Whenever I see a photo of our team, I’m forever grateful for having Andrew Richardson and his Foundation team helping to build such an incredible group.
