THE STORY

Noli needed 12 hires across Product, eCommerce and Operations by December, nine months away. On paper that sounds like plenty of time, but at Noli's growth rate, it wasn't. They also wanted to do it without pouring money into recruiter fees.

Avoiding agencies is easy to say and hard to do because it means building a talent function. Most companies fall back on agencies and hope they can bring hiring in-house next time.

WHAT WE BUILT

We started by auditing what Noli needed: not just which roles, but why, and in what order. Then we built the infrastructure that would let them source and hire without external dependency.

We implemented Screenloop ATS, which gave them visibility into every stage of hiring, not just final placements. We designed the Noli DNA Interview, which aligned each conversation to their People Promise, so every candidate experienced Noli consistently, regardless of who interviewed them. We reset role scoping so hiring managers owned the brief, not just the interview process, and we built a direct sourcing model: pipelines, not transactions. Relationships, not requisitions.

THE result

Twelve hires in nine months, each filled in an average of 12 days. That’s £189k saved compared with a 20% agency model. But the real result was the message it sent: fast hiring and cost-effective hiring aren't opposites. They're what happens when you treat hiring as an in-house competency instead of an external service. The biggest win came in December. Noli didn't just have 12 new hires; they had a hiring function that they could scale, control, and own.

Whenever I see a photo of our team, I’m forever grateful for having Andrew Richardson and his Foundation team helping to build such an incredible group.
