The story
Most of our work starts with something that’s broken or missing. Wonderbly was different. They already had strong people foundations: good systems, a clear culture, and a team that worked.
That creates a different challenge. When things are working, it’s tempting to leave them alone or to overhaul them for the sake of it. Neither is right. Wonderbly didn’t need a rebuild. They needed a partner who could see what was already good and help it keep pace as Wonderbly grew from one brand into a group.
What we built
We refined rather than replaced. We started with a discovery phase to understand what was working, then focused on making good things work better.
We streamlined their people systems by adding HiBob modules so surveys and performance reviews sit in one place, and we audited people data for accuracy. We rebuilt onboarding with clear expectations, deliverables and check-ins so new joiners get up to speed faster. We reviewed their people practices and refreshed their employee hub so information is easy to find.
On performance, we supported the annual review process with targeted tweaks rather than a rebuild. We’re now upskilling managers on pay and performance conversations and relaunching learning and development.
Throughout, we acted as a strategic business partner and a sounding board for leadership on everything people and culture.
THE result
Wonderbly’s people function hasn’t been replaced - it’s been sharpened. Their systems are more joined-up, onboarding is clearer, their policies are ready for 2026, and their managers are better equipped for the conversations that matter most. As the business grows into a group of brands, those foundations are ready to grow with it. Strong foundations don’t stay strong on their own. With the right partner, a people function that works becomes one that keeps getting better.
Whenever I see a photo of our team, I’m forever grateful for having Andrew Richardson and his Foundation team helping to build such an incredible group.
